Another busy week here at Fuchsia HQ but time for a little more reflection.
Over the last year my little business has been on something of an adventure. Although I’ve been making invites for almost 3 years now as part of my business, its taken me this long to really start to believe in myself.
It definitely seems as though that isn’t going to be a problem any more.
One of the big, quite scary decisions I have had to make for my business recently was to ‘go it alone’, more so than I have done in quite a long time. I have always relied on finding work from other sources, some I have worked very closely with and there was a time where I really didn’t think I would be able to generate enough business by myself without the input/leads from them.
So when I made the decision to pull away and really have a ‘proper’ go at basing my business at my home premises with the focus on bespoke and personal, it definitely felt like something of a test. Its now less than 2 months since these changes were put in place and I am enjoying my work now more than ever – we have more and more appointments being booked in every day. I’m finding the time to properly get to know couples, just yesterday I spent over 3 hours in my home space with 3 different couples on their wedding journeys. There’s a real benefit to just taking a little more time, both for myself and for them (thats you, if you are a bride reading this!).
It helps to build the trust in our working relationship and because they have been welcomed into my home they know there’s no chance of me disappearing into the night.
I am also finding that often things I have said (which I stand by) about my working ethic, one element of which is that I do not ever copy anything seen elsewhere, are remembered and most importantly valued by couples who don’t always know where to start on their journey.

I look forward to writing a little more about my journey into the world of networking, as this isn’t something I have ever fully immersed myself in before, and I have been fortunate enough to find the right groups for me, almost straight away.
There’ll be lots of new businesses I can tell you about when I do this, which may be next time(who knows!) but for now, I have a mountain of invites (just like the ones above) to be getting on with, so I would just like to thank you for reading and welcome any comments below.
