My love of words has been with me since I was a small child.
Not everyone knows this but some of the lovely gift poems that follow are completely unique to Fuchsia Fairy – because I wrote them! I wonder if you can guess which ones…

Invitation Wording

When it comes to the wording of your invitations, many couples often ask me ‘who goes first’?

Traditionally the bride’s parents did the inviting (as well as paying for everything) which is why the bride’s name was often seen first, but truthfully, nowadays it is whatever works best for you.

You will find a selection of ideas for the invitation wording, from the more ‘official’ sounding formal ones which follow with tradition, to the more contemporary ‘fun’ ones which are great if you really want both your personalities to shine through. Have some fun with this, if that is what you want to do – it’s your big day, after all!

Gift Poems

Before we look at these, I just wanted to make sure you know it is NOT essential to include a gift request with your invites. Many couples choose to do it because they get so many people asking them what they want, and traditional wedding gift lists are not so much of a thing any more as so many couples already live together so don’t need very much! It is a great way to let people know if you’ve still to plan a honeymoon, however, and they do like to give something even if you really just want their company on the day, so take this opportunity to have a look at the different ideas that have been used over the years by couples I have worked with.

Font Choices

There are lots of choices when it comes to fonts. I have designed my invitations so that the fonts complement each other and the style of the invitation but the beauty of bespoke is that you can choose what you would like! Here are the font choices that you can have to tailor your invitation bespoke to you.
